If I am awake and others around me are sleeping, I don't get to trounce around and startle them to wake up. Sleeping is sweet for them and that's ok. Once they've had enough sleep they will awaken.
In the community I'm from in NY the powers that be have no problem with gun control.
Being present is good for my health.
What a difference it makes when I allow myself to BE!
The other day I was walking home and saw the most bold and bright purple in this set of flowers.
There was no way I could just pass them by. I stood and admired the brightness and boldness and even the shades of purple within. It was on that moment I was reminded of this exchange between these two women (Ms. Celie and Sug Avery).
Now I don't believe God is pissed when we pass it by. However it was a reminder to take time, pause and experience the real. To admire the handiwork of God and stand in admiration. When I say experience the real I mean, non fabricated experiences that are constructed for our comfort and pleasure. Rather experiences that are not necessarily constructed, such as standing at the foot of a vast body of water. Or watching the sky paint a masterpiece as the sun rises and sets. These are real and the creator of all is the artist, the divine God, that leaves me in awe at the wonders of nature and the real of His creation.
Have you seen or read the Color Purple? What is your take on that excerpt? Favorite part?
Mondays are... Well they are what they are. I have come to not dread them as much as I once did.
February 9, 2005 was my 23rd birthday! It was also the day I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I had absolutely no understanding of what that meant even.
